Syracuse Safety Durell Eskridge Tweets He Will Miss The Texas Bowl

Syracuse sophomore safety continued his Twitter rampage Tuesday announcing he will not be playing in the Texas Bowl

Syracuse Orange sophomore safety Durell Eskridge spent nearly all of his Tuesday on Twitter, and besides being wished Happy Birthday approximately 44,444 times (give or take) he also declared he will not be playing in the Texas Bowl, Dec. 27.

Earlier in the day, Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer listed secondary teammates Julian Whigham as doubtful for the game, while Keon Lyn will not play. Eskridge wasn't present at practice Tuesday, according to Syracuse.com's Chris Carlson -- he was actually flying -- but he did clear-up his playing status come next Saturday.

Eskridge suffered a finger injury that required surgery during the Orange's regular-season finale victory, 34-31, over the Boston College Eagles.

Eskridge also announced he would be returning for his junior season after there was speculation he was enter the 2014 NFL Draft.
