Women's Basketball: Orange Picked 5th in ACC, Alexis Peterson on Preseason All-ACC team

After finishing tied for 4th place in the ACC last year, the Syracuse Orange are picked to finish 5th this year by the preseason ACC Coaches Poll. The ACC is very good this year, so this is not a slight against Orange but rather a statement on the depth of the league. If everyone stays healthy and the freshman can make an immediate impact, the Orange might be looking at 3rd or 4th in the ACC.

Additionally, Alexis Peterson was picked to the preseason All-ACC team. Last year Peterson made the All-ACC 2nd team and the All-ACC Defensive team. She was the only All-ACC selection from Syracuse last season. Brittney Sykes, Brianna Butler and Briana Day are hopeful surprise All-ACC players.

Finally, the Orange have five home games televised on ESPN3 this season. We can expect to see other marquee match-ups on TV. Here are the ESPN3 games:
