The biggest loser overall last week was the Ohio State Buckeyes. OSU lost to Marquette before beating Detroit. Following its big win the Golden Eagles couldn’t continue the momentum and lost to Bellarmine. Not sure how the US Lacrosse rankings have Marquette at 14. Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Penn State regained footing with a 10-7 win over Penn. The only thing holding the Quakers in the top 20 is a win over the Duke Blue Devils.
At the top of the polls, the Albany Great Danes had a very uninspiring win at home over the Cornell Big Red. Personally, I have Maryland number one this week after a victory against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
In the ACC, the North Carolina Tar Heels had an ugly win over the St. John’s Red Storm and gained a few spot in every poll other than the US Lacrosse rankings. For its loss to the Syracuse Orange, UVA fell in each poll except the US Lacrosse rankings while SU entered the top ten in each poll.
