By now I think most of y’all know that there has been an outbreak of mumps on the Syracuse campus and unfortunately someone on the Syracuse Orange lacrosse team has contracted the virus.
#Crosby once had the mumps & looked like Quagmire from @FamilyGuyonFOX. That ease the pain? #StanleyCup #gigadee pic.twitter.com/DAfOsyDyVI

As you may know, the NHL has had a big problem with mumps outbreaks over the last few years. It really is no joke. Locker rooms are the perfect place for mumps to spread. The University is sanitizing the player areas, hopefully that will take care of the situation. The good news is that thankfully this is happening in September and not mid-season.
If you were planning on going to the Iroquois-Israel-SU scrimmages on Sunday, the event will still take place with the Albany Great Danes subbing in for the Orange. What is nice is that at least the coaches and players will get to do a little scouting on this Albany team which features the overall number one recruit in the nation, Tehoka Nanticoke.
