This is a weekly post I will be doing all year, just for fun. Keep track, add your picks in the comment section and watch along.
If you follow lacrosse, most likely you’ve ventured into the lax twittersphere where you can find a whole mess of interesting characters. One of the more intriguing profiles out there is @laxvegaslines which sets weekly lines for lacrosse. Back in 2015, the online sports book Bovada opened up for lacrosse wagers. Not long after beginning the experiment it was shut down due to a lack of interest. Thankfully, @laxvegaslines has filled the gap. It is a great follow and always makes for interesting lax talk. It should be made clear that the profile does not actually take wagers, just sets lines.
So just for fun, this season we’ll be keeping an eye on the odds, give you our picks, and I’ll keep an eye on how things go.
Join me and put your picks down in the comment section and maybe we can find out who will win all the Monopoly money!
Immediately below are this week’s lines followed by my picks. And of course, a big thanks to @laxvegaslines for putting together these weekly odds. I will also mention that I am not actually making any wagers (not that anyone would actually take lacrosse bets), this is simply for fun.

Penn State Nittany Lions -4.5, over
Penn State has been destroying teams while Villanova has been subpar. The total will be close to 24.5 but I have the over given that the Nittany Lions have scored 20 or more twice this sesason.
Rutgers Scarlet Knights -3.5, under
Fairfield got killed by Richmond 15-3 in the first game of the season. Rutgers does not have the same offensive dominance as they did last season, but I still believe the Scarlet Knights will win by at least two.
Ohio State Buckeyes -4, over
OSU is an overrated 3-0 this season, but given Jacksonville’s struggles, especially its 17-1 loss to Marquette, I’m a little surprised the Buckeyes are just a four point favorite.
Syracuse Orange -2.5, over
Man, I could really see this being a one or two goal game, and for a Syracuse team that shoots an enormous amount of shots the over is in jeapordy too.
Navy Midshipmen -3, under
Boston University is pretty good this year but the Terriers will not be able to match Navy. I like the under as a safe bet here.
Towson Tigers -3.5, under
It’s always fun picking against Georgetown. The Hoyas barely managed three goals against High Point but bounced back to score ten in a 16-10 loss to Notre Dame. I can’t imagine this game being over 18.5.
Lafayette Leapords +8, over
I think Loyola puts up at least 14 goals against a very weak Lafayette, but +8 is a huge line.
Maryland Terrapins -3, over
I love Maryland this year and we haven’t seen a lot of Yale. I have to think UMD beats the line.
Duke Blue Devils -4, over
Duke has been a disappointment so far this year, but -4 to Saint Joseph’s should be pretty easy to cover. I’m only taking the over because I think Duke can put up 16 on its own.
Albany Great Danes -3.5, over
Even in its loss to Syracuse, Albany was impressive. Drexel put up 14 against Virginia last week, but I don’t know if that will be possible against JD Colarusso who had a great game in goal versus the Orange.
Brown Brown -5.5, under
I know it was Quinnipiac, but 25 goals? Wow. Brown will win easily, I just don’t know if Stony Brook will be able to put up enough goals to reach the 26.5 over/under.
Virginia Cavaliers -2, over
I don’t see a powerful offense like UVA to have any problem beating the line, and the over should be a pretty safe bet.
Marquette Golden Eagles +1.5, over
I’m not sold on either Marquette nor Richmond, but I like Marquette better in this matchup. I’m picking the over, but barely.
North Carolina Tar Heels PK, over
Two very dangerous teams, this could be the game of the week. I expect one heck of an offensive performance.
Denver Pioneers -8.5, over
No chance Cleveland State stays close.
Michigan Wolverines +6, under
Michigan is a weak 4-0, but I’m not sold on Notre Dame as an offensive team.
Denver Pioneers -7.5, under
Canisius had a nice 13-8 win over Dartmouth last week, but Denver is too strong.
