If you follow lacrosse, most likely you’ve ventured into the lax twittersphere where you can find a whole mess of interesting characters. One of the more intriguing profiles out there is @laxvegaslines which sets weekly lines for lacrosse. Back in 2015, the online sports book Bovada opened up for lacrosse wagers. Not long after beginning the experiment it was shut down due to a lack of interest. Thankfully, @laxvegaslines has filled the gap. It is a great follow and always makes for interesting lax talk. It should be made clear that the profile does not actually take wagers, just sets lines.
So just for fun, this season we’ll be keeping an eye on the odds, give you our picks, and I’ll keep an eye on how things go.
Join me and put your picks down in the comment section and maybe we can find out who will win all the Monopoly money!
Immediately below are this week’s lines followed by my picks. And of course, a big thanks to @laxvegaslines for putting together these weekly odds. I will also mention that I am not actually making any wagers (not that anyone would actually take lacrosse bets), this is simply for fun.

Jim’s Picks
Duke Blue Devils -4, over 18.5
Blue Devils will be looking to make a statement after a loss at home to Air Force last weekend.
Furman Paladins +9, over 22
UNC is loaded but I think Furman stays within 9, definitely the over.
Maryland Terrapins -4.5, over 20.5
Tough pick here in regards to the spread.
Villanova Wildcats -6.5, under 23
St. Johns Red Storm +4.5, under 20
Rutgers is without Charalambides which could have a major impact this year, not sure who’s doing the scoring in this game.
Johns Hopkins Blue Jays -7, under 23.5
Don’t know much about UMBC, Hopkins looked pretty good last week though.
Loyola Greyhounds -1.5, under 24.5
Loyola is dangerous, but we don’t know exactly what to expect from UVA who will be without its starting goaltender for the year, 24.5 is a big number to reach though.
Richmond Spiders +1, over 19
Basically a pickem here.
Penn State Nittany Lions -4, over 20.5
Hobart could have a big year, so I wouldn’t put it past them to cover.
Denver Pioneers -3.5, over 22
I know Air Force beat Duke, but this line is way too close. The over/under is right on point I think.
Syracuse Orange -7.5, over 22
Syracuse beating Siena by at least 7.5 and the over on 22 goals are the locks for this week. SU hasn’t scored less than 18 against Siena in the last three years.
Cleveland State Vikings +12, over 19
Come on, 12? I don’t care who you are, that is too big of a spread to pick against.
Throw down your picks below in the comments and let’s see who wins the bragging rights.
