The Syracuse Orange and Maryland Terrapins take the field in Providence, RI, for a quarterfinals matchup.
The last time these two squads met in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament was back in 2011 when Maryland took down the Orange 6-5 in OT. I would expect today's contest to have just a few a lot more goals.
My Maryland preview can be found here. As I talked about previously, the two areas that Syracuse could take advantage are at the faceoff X and on offense at the midfield. Austin Henningsen had a great game against Quinnipiac last week getting off to a 12 for 12 start. Ben Williams had the opposite experience, starting off at 0-5 before finishing 12-24.
The first line midfield have been dangerous all year for Syracuse. I am very interested to see how the Maryland short sticks match up with Sergio Salcido, Derek DeJoe, and Nick Mariano.
@LaxVegasLines has Maryland as a two goal favorite and the over/under set at 21.
