While the NCAA Tournament field has been announced, the polls don't really matter any more. Nevertheless, the Syracuse Orange fell one spot in the USILA Coaches' Poll, gained a spot in the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll, and stayed steady at #4 in the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Poll. Notre Dame moves up a spot in two polls following a win over Army. Duke also gained one position with a 15-8 win over BU while UNC, who was idle, moved up in the Coaches' Poll, down in the Media Poll and held at #9 in the Lacrosse Magazine Poll.
Syracuse's first round opponent, Albany, took a significant hit in each ranking for the loss to Hartford in the America East Tournament.
The Maryland Terrapins move into the top position in each poll after winning the Big Ten Championship. Hopkins fell after the loss to Rutgers and the Scarlet Knights gain a few positions in each poll for making it to the B10 Championship game.
The big winner this week was Marquette. The Golden Eagles beat Denver by one goal in the Big East Championship but still remain outside of the top 10 in two of the three major rankings.
