Syracuse Lacrosse: Number One in the Polls One More Time

New, 7 comments

While the Syracuse Orange may not have taken the number one seed in the NCAA Tournament, SU did finish the regular season in the #1 position in both the Media and Coaches' Polls.

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

After missing out on the number one seed in the NCAAT, the Syracuse Orange will continue to rule the polls in the first spot. The ACC has all five teams in the top seven of the Media poll and top nine in the Coaches' Poll. Interestingly enough, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish picked up a second first place vote this week after beating the Army Black Knights. There are two Tournament teams that did not make the end of season polls: the Bryant Bulldogs and theHigh Point Panthers.

The highest ranked team in the Media Poll to not get an invite to the Tournament is the #14/16 Georgetown Hoyas, while in the Coaches' Poll #16/T14 Princeton is the highest ranked team to miss the Tourney.
