The important hardware is being handed out this weekend in Philly, but the lacrosse world has begun to give out its individual honors, with the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association naming its All-American teams today.
JoJo Marasco represents the Orange as one of the five midfielders selected to the first team, alongside other luminaries like Princeton's Tom Schreiber and someone we'll see this weekend, Cameron Flint from Denver. Marasco was an honorable mention last year, and is a Tewaarton Trophy finalist this season.
Brian Megill was named to the second team for the second straight year, while Luke Cometti and Henry Schoonmaker are each on the honorable mention list.
A number of schools had more players on the All-American list than Syracuse. Duke and Maryland led the way with seven players each, while Cornell and Loyola each placed six players on the list. UNC, Johns Hopkins, and Virginia each have five players included, while Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Denver are tied with Syracuse at four players a piece.
