The Syracuse Orange men's lacrosse season has been interesting to say the least. However, if there's one thing the Orange (12-3) made clear Thursday evening it is they can handle playing the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (10-4), who was dominated again by SU, 9-3, in the first round of the Big East Tournament in Philadelphia, PA.
SU, which less than five days ago dominated then No. 2-ranked Notre Dame, 10-4, at Met Life Stadium, used a two-goal, two-assists performance from attackman Derek Maltz and a four-assists showcase from JoJo Marasco to advance to the Big East Championship Game on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET. The Orange will play either No. 1-seeded Villanova or No. 4 Georgetown for the BET crown.
Attackmen Kevin Rice had two goals, while Luke Cometti and Dylan Donahue each added tallies for the Orange.
The victory could help SU's seeding in the NCAA Tournament, especially now since they proved last week's victory over the Irish was for realz.
Though, I'll be honest, you might know better than I. So, discuss the win and what could be next below.
