Syracuse assistant coach Katie Rowan has been named to the U.S. Women's World Cup 18-player roster announced Tuesday by US Lacrosse.

Syracuse assistant women's lacrosse coach Katie Rowan has been named to the U.S. Women's World Cup 18-player roster announced Tuesday by US Lacrosse.

Rowan and company will compete in the 2013 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Cup, July 11-20 in Oshawa, Ontario. The team will look to defend its 2009 gold medal and capture its seventh overall world title.

The former standout attacker was the second leading scorer and an intricate part of the 2009 World Cup team, registering 15 goals and 20 assists during the tournament.

Team U.S.A. recently competed in the Champion Challenge in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., compiling a perfect 3-0 record against No. 1 Syracuse, No. 3 Northwestern and the English women's national team. Rowan chipped in with three goals and four assists in three games.

Career statistics include: 232 goals, 164 assists (396 total points), two-time BIG EAST Attack Player of the Year and three-time first-team All-America selection.
