During the summer the Syracuse Orange received two verbal commitments from two members of the Class of 2017, Daewood Davis, a four-star wide receiver from Florida, and Isaiah McDuffie, a three-star linebacker from the Buffalo area. The Orange looks to continue to build on that class. Here are some of Syracuse's top targets who also reportedly have a high interest in return:
Juwan Burgess, Four-Star Athlete, 6'0" 175 lbs., Plant High School, Tampa, FL
Burgess is a wide receiver and a cornerback from the same high school as 2016 commits Rex Culpepper and Scoop Bradshaw, and 2016 target Bo Peek. Burgess has offers from Alabama and Florida State, but Clemson, Kentucky and Florida are Syracuse's top contenders for his services.
Anthony White, Jr., Four-Star Wide Receiver, 6'0" 160 lbs., American High School, Hialeh, FL
White has offers from the likes of Louisiana State, Kentucky, Illinois, and South Florida, but Syracuse and North Carolina State are reportedly his top two at the moment.
Hendon Hooker, Four-Star Quarterback, 6'3" 190 lbs., Dudley High School, Greensboro, NC
Hooker is one of four QBs Syracuse has targeted in the 2017 cycle. He also has offers from Clemson, East Carolina and Army.
Kasim Hill, Three-Star Quarterback, 6'2" 190 lbs., Gilman High School, Baltimore, MD
Hill unofficially visited Syracuse over the summer. He has offers from Boston College, Michigan State and Northwestern, but Penn State is considered to be the leader at this point.
Daulton Hyatt, Three-Star Quaterback, 6'4" 180 lbs., Arab High School, Arab, AL
Hyatt is from the same small Alabama town where the Syracuse staff struck gold with Steven Clark. Hyatt goes to a different school, but the two apparently know one another. Other than Syracuse, Hyatt has offers from Miami, Troy and Vanderbilt and recently unofficially visited Alabama.
Cody Bowes, Three-Star Guard, 6'4" 270 lbs., St. Thomas Aquinas, Fort Lauderdale, FL
Syracuse is dipping back into the St. Thomas Aquinas talent pool for what would be our third offensive lineman in three years from the school. The 2015 class featured offensive lineman Sam Clausman and Colin Byrne from St. Thomas Aquinas. Bowes recently picked up offers from Illinois and North Carolina.
Aapri Washington, Three-Star Cornerback, 5'9" 160 lbs., Mountain Island Charter, Mount Holly NC
Despite his cousin's de-commitment from Syracuse, Aapri Washington has still shown strong interest in the Orange. He also has offers from Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Texas Christian.
Noah Jordan-Williams, Three-Star Wide Receiver, 6'1" 170 lbs., Christian Brothers Academy, Syracuse, NY
Jordan-Williams was in attendance for the LSU game. So far, Buffalo and Syracuse are the only two teams jockeying for his services.
On Thursday, the Orange also offered Oxford (AL) linebacker Kenney (KJ) Britt. Syracuse was the first scholarship offer from a power five conference for Britt, although he has received significant interest from SECs schools and is hoping for an Auburn offer. Britt did say that he watched Syracuse play LSU and was impressed with Syracuse's gang tackling against the SEC powerhouse, according to Scout.
Syracuse offered another pair of 2017 St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) targets on Thursday, offensive lineman Zachary Sweeney and linebacker Tyler Dunning. Dunning is verbally committed to Miami, while the Orange is the first scholarship offer for Sweeney. While in South Florida, Syracuse also offered 6'3", 235 pound defensive end Chris Whittaker of Chaminade Madonna College Prep in Hollywood, Florida. Whittaker also has an offer from Bowling Green.
Another 2017 offer went out on Wednesday as well when the Orange offered Norland High School (Miami, FL) offensive tackle Kadeem Telfort. Telfort is 6'6", 310 lbs. and is a consensus three-star recruit. Telfort originally committed to Miami but flipped to Florida in July. Telfort tweeted that he had been offered by Syracuse, but it's unclear if he has any interest in the Orange.
***UPDATE***
Add four-star defensive end Jonathan Ford of Dillard High School (FL) to the list of South Florida 2017 targets that was extended a scholarship offer this week. Ford is 6'5" and 240 lbs. He currently holds offers from Miami, Florida State, Ohio State, North Carolina and South Carolina among others.
