Syracuse football's first ACC road contest, Saturday, Oct. 12, will not be a nooner but a 3:30 p.m.(er), Syracuse athletics announced Monday afternoon.
The game, which will be shown on the ACC's Regional Sports Network, will be the first meeting between the two program since 1998. That game featured the Wolfpack winning in dominating fashion 38-17 in Raleigh.
Believe it or not, SU has never beaten N.C. State, which has won all six meetings between the programs. Anytime the Orange have traveled to N.C. State they've lost by at least a touchdown or more.
This year's contest will be a big one for Syracuse, which more than likely will be coming off a loss to Clemson and looking to return to the .500 mark. If the Orange can snag a road ACC victory it would mean SU will need just three more wins to become bowl eligible with games against Wake Forest, Boston College and Pittsburgh still needing to be played.
