It's summertime on TNIAAM, which means we're counting down the SU football roster from Sloan to Broyld. Today we get to know Syracuse's redshirt freshmen tight end, Josh Parris

Name: Josh Parris

Position: Last year he played "tight en", this year he has been promoted to tight end.

Year: Redshirt freshmen

Height: 6'2

Weight: 225

Hometown: Stonemountain, Ga.

High School: Stephenson

2012 Stats: He redshirted, so I am sure he tied for the team lead for non-playing minutes.

2013 Projections: After Spring ball, Parrish was listed behind Beckett Wales on the depth chart. This means he should see a lot of game action, however, not a lot of balls thrown his way. That is assuming nothing happens to Wales.

How'd He Get Here?: Thanks to Dan Lyons, we know:

Josh was originally committed to USF, but quickly saw the folly of his ways and switched his verbal to Syracuse. He had an impressive offer list, including Boston College, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, UVA, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. Greg Adkins handled his recruitment.

At the time of his commitment decision, he told the Atlantic Journal-Constitution a few of the reasons why he picked Syracuse was because he had family in the Syracuse area and liked the way the Orange used the tight end. Of course, that was when Doug Marrone was here, so let see how things pans out now.

What'd Scout/Rivals Say?: They all said he was a three-star player.

Money Quote: So far, he doesn't talk much. Which is a good thing out of a freshman.

Links of Wonder: The Stephenson's football team he was a part of his senior season had 26 players sign Division I scholarships.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Parris was a part of the Georgia trio, which also included running back George Morris and defensive end Josh Manley, that came in during the Class of 2012. Interesting to see how that trio works out.
