It is safe to say Saturday's 56-0 loss to Georgia Tech wasn't much fun. The gut-check result for the Syracuse Orange (3-4, 1-2 ACC) put a bit of a damper on what seemed to be a progressing season. Because of that The Quest-O-Meter took a serious dip backward.
What is good is Syracuse has a bye week before a home contest against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, who all of a sudden are becoming a threat to steal a victory at the Carrier Dome. The following week the Orange visit the Maryland Terrapins, who is battling a bunch of season-ending injuries, two of which happened to their two top wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Leon Long.
It is safe to say Syracuse will need to hide the kids, hide the wives for its showdown at Florida State. But, then two-game home stand awaits SU, which hosts a struggling Pitt squad that had issues with Old Dominion, and a big game against rival Boston College.
Saturday wasn't fun but it doesn't end the season. There's still lots of football to be played.
