Duke 66, Syracuse 60: Blue Devils Down Orange In Rematch

It could have been worse. It could have been better. But, boy, oh boy, did it end with a bang!

Grant Halverson

Despite not playing their best game (though, the second half was encouraging), the No. 1 Syracuse Orange lost at the No. 5 Duke Blue Devils, 66-60, in the much anticipated rematch of the two new ACC rivals.

Jerami Grant carried the Syracuse load netting 17 points and eight rebounds, while C.J. Fair might have found his groove—though it might have been a bit too late—netting 12 points in the Orange's second straight loss.

Overall, Duke's Jabari Parker was the hero of the game scoring a game-best 19 points, including a bunch of huge buckets late in the game.

Much more to come about this second meeting between the two rivals, as rent-a-star-contributor Scott Wise is at Cameron Indoor and will bring you all the details, including Jim Boeheim's post-game presser.

Until then, talks about the end of the game here. (Oh, and the start of an awesome new rivals. This is going to be great all.)
