After finishing its regular season campaign and Big East Conference Tournament with a 26-9 record, the Syracuse Orange were awarded the fourth seed in the NCAA Tournament's East Region on Sunday.

The Orange will play the No. 13-seeded Montana Grizzlies, the Big Sky Conference champions, in the second round Thursday in San Jose, Calif. The game time, TV channel and broadcast crew of the contest has yet be announced.

The winner will move on to face either No. 5-seeded UNLV Runnin' Rebels or No. 12 California Golden Bears.

From there, the Orange could face the No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers in the Sweet 16 -- the Hooiser play the winner of LIU-Brooklyn or James Madison in the second round -- and then possibly the No. 2 Miami Hurricanes or No. 3 Marquette Golden Eagles in the Regional final.

The East Regional, which will hold the semifinals and finals at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., also features: (8) N.C. State Wolfpack vs. (9) Temple Owls; (6) Butler Bulldogs vs. (11) Bucknell Bison; (3) Marquette vs. (14) Davidson Wildcats; (7) Illinois Fighting Illini vs. (10) Colorado Buffaloes; (2) Miami vs. (15) Pacific Tigers.

This will be the first time the Orange will play a NCAA Tournament game in the West since losing to Butler, 63-59, in Salt Lake City in 2010. That season SU earned a No. 1 seed in the West Region.

The last time SU earned a No. 4 seed was in 2005 when the Vermont Catamounts upset the Orange, 60-57, in the first round. (Sorry about that reminder.)

So, there you go Orange fans. Thoughts and comments below are welcome.
