Get To Know Your Orange Man - #55 Rob Trudo

Rob Trudo is a bad, bad man, and should be one of the cornerstones of a retooled Syracuse offensive line in 2013.

Name: Rob Trudo

Position: Left Guard

Year: Sophomore

Height: 6'3"

Weight: 284

Hometown: Farrell, PA

High School: Farrell

2012 Stats: Started in nine of 13 games after ultimately beating out Ivan Foy for the starting spot at right guard.

2013 Projections: Trudo has moved with Sean Hickey from the right to left side of the line to replace Justin Pugh and Zack Chibane, and I expect pretty big things from that duo. Both have plenty of starting experience, and should be pretty formidable going forward.

How'd He Get Here?: Rob chose Syracuse over Akron (natch), BC, Cincy, Iowa State, Michigan, Ohio University, Pitt, Toledo, West Virginia.

What'd Scout/Rivals Say?: Three stars from Scout and ESPN, two from Rivals and 247.

Money Quote:

"I just want to go for it. I just want to run-block, honestly. I just like hitting people."

Tweets of Wonder: Going to assume that Rob Trudo is Syracuse's football's MacGyver.

Links of Wonder: Dave Rahme on Trudo, who really really likes to hit people, and may have been the most powerful blocker on the team last year according to Macky MacPherson.

What Does Shafer Greg Adkins Think?: On Trudo beating out Foy after the first four games last year

"I knew that was going to be a good measuring stick for me to get a good evaluation on both players," line coach Greg Adkins said. "And both performed well at times and both struggled at times. I felt Rob’s aggressiveness in terms of attacking defenders in the run game and the pass game was the direction I wanted moving forward."

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Part of the reason Trudo came to Syracuse was for the School of Engineering, but he's now majoring in economics. This doesn't mean his academics pursuits and waned, however, as he made the 2011 and 2012 Fall Athletic Director's Honor Roll and is a member of the 2011 and 2012 Big East All-Academic Team.

Let Us Get a Good Look Atchya: An interview from last year, some highlights, and of course, a high school presidential campaign ad.
