Ivan Foy looks to take over the vacant right tackle position this year, as Sean Hickey moves to the left side. Let's get to know more about the big Brooklyn lineman.

Name: Ivan Foy

Position: Offensive Line

Year: Sophomore

Height: 6'4"

Weight: 313

Hometown: Brooklyn, NY

High School: Fort Hamilton

2012 Stats: Played in six games, including four starts at right guard.

2013 Projections: As noted above, Foy is currently penciled in as the starter at right tackle, and with only walk-on Daniel Anyaegbunam and freshman Jon Burton behind him on the post-spring depth chart, he looks to be fairly locked in to that spot unless one of the summer enrollees can steal his job. I thought that Foy was fairly impressive for a redshirt freshman at guard last year, and I think he can be a pleasant surprise this year, although the move from guard to tackle is an interesting one.

How'd He Get Here?: Syracuse landed the lightly-recruited Foy fairly late in the recruiting season in 2011 over Rutgers. He was high school teammates with Brandon Reddish, which probably gave the Orange a bit of an edge down the stretch.

What'd Scout/Rivals Say?: Three stars from Scout, two from Rivals, ESPN, and 247.

What Does Shafer Perles Think:

"The biggest thing with Ivan is he can play at an extremely high level," Perles said, "but can he do it consistently? That's what we need out of him."

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Foy eventually stuck with football, but he was a big baseball player growing up. Also, he is a social media maven.
