National Signing Day, Syracuse Recruiting: Zaire Franklin Is Ready To Lead The Defense

New, 1 comment

Linebacker Zaire Franklin has spent months recruiting more players to the Orange defense. Today, he makes his own commitment official.

Stat Me: Can't find much in the way of stats for the linebacker, but he is listed at 6'1", 215 lbs. Philly.com has more nice things to say:

The Syracuse commit is a vicious hitter, has a high motor, and strong closing speed. Franklin committed to Syracuse in June, choosing the Orangemen over Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pittsburgh, and Temple, among others. The West Oak Lane resident can bench-press 335 pounds, squat 540, and power-clean 300.

Seein' Stars: Scout - 3*, Rivals - 3*, 247 - 3*, ESPN - 3*

Who's Crying?: Arizona, BC, Clemson, UConn, UNC, Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, and others.

Money Quote: Zaire's getting emotional about tomorrow:

Which SU Coach Gets a Bonus?: Chuck Bullough and Clark Lea.

Fun Fact: Penn State didn't offer Franklin initially, but came through with one after he had already verballed to Syracuse, however it was too late for his home-state school.
