National Signing Day 2013: Mr. Kimble is a Quarterback, You Idiot!

Illinois QB Mitch Kimble becomes the second signal caller to sign with the Orange in 2013.

After the loss of previously-declared savior Zach Allen, Syracuse fans were not too thrilled. However, the commitment of Mitch Kimble, a quarterback with a similar skill set as Allen, has helped alleviate a lot of that pain.

Stat Me: Kimble threw for over 1400 yards and 10 touchdowns, and added 957 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns this season.

Who's Crying?: NC State, Northern Illinois

Money Quote:

I think the coach that I really connected with was probably Coach Lester. He’s the guy I will be working with all the time, and I really enjoyed getting to know him. I thought we really had a good connection. It feels like we’ve known each other for a lot longer than we have.

Which SU Coach Gets a Bonus?: You heard the man. QB coach Tim Lester was essential in Kimble's quick recruitment.

Fun Fact: Kimble was an NIU verbal to head coach Dave Doeren, and Doeren continued recruiting him after getting the NC State job, making the fact that Syracuse nabbed him late even more impressive.
