We haven't heard too much from Marqez Hodge since the Miami Central linebacker verballed to Syracuse in the Spring. Maybe we should pay a bit more attention. Hodge is a talented athlete who Scout ranks as the 55th best linebacker prospect in the country.

Stat Me: As a first-year starter in 2011, Hodge recorded 50 tackles and a sack for a Miami Central team that had won 27 straight games before dropping a game in the state championship.

Seein' Stars: Scout - 3*, Rivals - 3*, 247 - 3*, ESPN - 2*

Who's Crying?: Cincinnati, FIU, Marshall, Minnesota, West Virginia, Western Kentucky

Money Quote: From Hodge's HS coach Telly Lockette:

He’s a good, hard-nosed kid. He loves the game of football. He’s going to grow, too.

Which SU Coach Gets a Bonus?: SMFS locked Hodge in his house during his in-home visits.

Fun Fact: Miami Central has been kind to Syracuse. Durell Eskridge and Oliver Vigille are Central alums.

Yeah, but does he hit people?: Yuuuup
