Syracuse Special Assistant to the Athletics Director and Professional Football Hall of Fame member Floyd Little is helping lead a group of 19 Hall of Famers and other football legends to Israel as part of a week-long trip to grow the game of football.

Lazarus Sims relishes role as Syracuse's new parks commissioner

Sims, 42, was appointed the parks commissioner, a job that comes with a $72,000 salary, in late March by Mayor Stephanie Miner. He replaced Baye Muhammad, who took a job as commissioner of neighborhood and business development in Rochester for nearly double the salary. Miner consulted with Syracuse police chief Frank Fowler, who has known Sims for years, and spoke with "a number of people" she trusted who recommended Sims for the job.

In his 15 years as the head coach at Neumann-Goretti High School in Philadelphia, Carl Arrigale has sent dozens of players to the college ranks. The list of Neumann-Goretti graduates to earn college scholarships includes former Syracuse players Scoop Jardine and Rick Jackson. But Arrigale says Quade Green might be the best shooter he's ever coached.
