Welcome to National Early Signing Day(s) for the Class of 2024! Can the Syracuse Orange close the deal with their committed players? Do we get any early Christmas presents that we didn’t know about?

We’re going to be updating those signing with the Orange. Next one up is:

Name: Jahide Lesaine

Hometown: Sparta, New Jersey

Previous School: Irvington

Stats: 6-foot-4, 234 pounds

Position: Edge

Ratings: Lesaine was a 0.8400 via the 247sports.com Composite Rankings. Per On3.com he was a 86 overall. He is a consensus 3-star prospect.

Other Offers: His main other offers came in from Ole Miss, and Pitt, along with Kent State and a few others. Penn State was also sniffing around. Overall it made more sense to head north and commit relatively recently to the Orange.

Player Breakdown: Lesaine, along with current and future teammate Maraad Watson did some damage for Irvington this season. They’ll both look at breaking into the rotation in a position group that seems to have a bit of turnover this year. On the edge, Lesaine should fit into a multiple front that Coach Fran has mentioned a few times. On offense he was a tight end and wideout, which could lead to a role as a tweener that can stand up in a 3-4 or go hand on the ground in a 4-3.
