NCAA Football: Wake Forest at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to National Early Signing Day(s) for the Class of 2024! Can the Syracuse Orange close the deal with their committed players? Do we get any early Christmas presents that we didn’t know about?

We’re going to be updating those signing with the Orange. Next one up is:

Name: Maraad Watson

Hometown: Irvington, New Jersey

Previous School: Irvington

Stats: 6-foot-3, 285 pounds

Position: Defensive line

Ratings: Watson was a 0.8567 via the 247sports.com Composite Rankings. He is a consensus 3-star prospect.

Other Offers: Watson was committed to Kent State, but reopened his recruitment and was courted by Tennessee, Nebraska, and Rutgers along with some MACtion and others. Ultimately he chose the right Orange and is heading to Syracuse.

Player Breakdown: With the addition of Elijah Robinson as the defensive coordinator, it’s all defensive line, all the time in the Salt City. Watson is no slouch and should come in to add some depth on the interior. He showed some versatility in high school, lining up anywhere from the one technique to out over tackle and caused a ruckus from any of those spots. He’ll be a solid addition to the player pool in the trenches.
