Welcome to National Early Signing Day(s) for the Class of 2024! Can the Syracuse Orange close the deal with their committed players? Do we get any early Christmas presents that we didn’t know about?

We’re going to be updating those signing with the Orange. Next one up is:

Name: Devin Grant

Hometown: Elmont, NY

Previous School: The University at Buffalo

Stats: 6’4”, 190 lbs.

Position: Safety

Ratings: Four stars on 247Sports and three stars on ESPN and On3

Other Offers: Grant originally committed to Buffalo in July 2021 over offers from Army, James Madison, Fordham and Albany. Grant played for Buffalo in 2022 and 2023 before he entered the transfer portal on December 11 and committed to Syracuse exactly one week later.

Player Breakdown: Grant ended this season as the only Buffalo defender to be selected for All-MAC First Team Defense and finished with 79 tackles (55 solo), five interceptions and one forced fumble. Grant can both bring some immediate stability to the Orange’s secondary and offer promise to continue developing with two more years of eligibility left for him (having his former defensive coordinator at Buffalo reportedly join Syracuse as a linebackers coach is also a nice bonus). He’s got the right height to match up against some of the bigger receivers in the ACC and looks like he can contribute to Syracuse’s defense right away.

Highlights: We’ve high school highlights, as well as this awesome pick-six during his time with Buffalo as an added bonus:
