Early Signing Day: 2024 QB Jakhari Williams commits to Syracuse

That’s my Quarterback (of the future)!

NCAA Football: Wake Forest at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to National Early Signing Day(s) for the Class of 2024! Can the Syracuse Orange close the deal with their committed players? Do we get any early Christmas presents that we didn’t know about?

We’re going to be updating those signing with the Orange. Next one up is:

Name: Jakhari Williams

Hometown: Macon, GA

High School: First Presbyterian Day School

Build: 6’3”, 190 lbs.

Position: Quarterback

Ratings: High three-star across the board

Other Offers: Georgia Tech was the primary competitor for the Peach State native - but he turned down the offer from the Atlanta-based school, along with Pitt, NC State, Virginia Tech, UCF, Liberty, and FAU. He took an official visit to SU this past weekend as one final confirmation.

Player Breakdown: A dual-threat quarterback with a style similar to most who have been in the recent Orange QB rooms. He’s not afraid to put his body on the line much like Garrett Shrader and Eric Dungey before him. No issues escaping the pocket to extend plays either, and the arm strength is there. Kyle McCord will mentor him for a year and he could be the long-term answer after that.

Highlights: State Championship run? Check.
