Welcome to National Early Signing Day(s) for the Class of 2024! The Syracuse Orange are rolling along with their exciting class of 2024 curated by Fran Brown and his staff, and Syracuse’s latest commitment is a testament to the great relationships the future coaching staff is cultivating with recruits.

We’re going to be updating these signings throughout the day. Next one up is:

Name: KingJoseph Edwards

Hometown: Hoschton, GA

Previous School: Mill Creek

Stats: 6-foot-4, 230 pounds

Position: Edge

Ratings: Four stars from 247sports and ESPN, three stars from On3 and Rivals

Other Offers: Syracuse beat out Florida State and Colorado for Edwards’ signature

Player Breakdown: At the very least, Syracuse is getting an electric personality. It’ll be interesting to see where the Orange use Edwards, as he is a little undersized to be a traditional defensive end, assuming that’s the system that Elijah Robinson decides to implement. What Edwards lacks in a bit of size, he makes up for in speed and technique. He has fast hands that are really adept at shedding blockers to get to the backfield quickly. If this was the 3-3-5 defense, Edwards would be perfect for the Leon Lowery role of “ears pinned back blitzing linebacker.” He’s got the opportunity to rack up some nice sack numbers for the Orange.
