Welcome to National Early Signing Day(s) for the Class of 2024! The Syracuse Orange continue to roll through its their many commitments to the program since Fran Brown came onboard, and that includes the transfers joining the program in Central New York.

We’re going to be updating those signing with the Orange all day. Next one up is:

Name: Kyle McCord

Hometown: Mount Laurel, N.J.

Previous School: Ohio State

Stats: 6-foot-3, 215 pounds

Position: Quarterback

Ratings: Five-star recruit out of high school, four-star as a transfer

Other Offers: Syracuse’s biggest challenger in the portal for McCord’s services was Nebraska.

Player Breakdown: McCord didn’t have the same flashy and Heisman-worthy stats as Justin Fields and CJ Stroud, but then again it was always going to be a tall order to follow two future NFL superstars at a program as prolific as Ohio State. McCord still put up 3,170 passing yards with 24 touchdowns and only six interceptions with a 65.8 completion percentage. He isn’t the same mobile quarterback that Orange fans have gotten used to watching Eric Dungey and Garrett Shrader. McCord is an accurate pro-style pocket passer who has experience facing the best collegiate competition. At the very least, his involvement with the Orange is a statement to the college world that Syracuse is ready to play with the big boys.
