Syracuse releases depth chart for matchup with Florida State

As standard, it’s a recap of what happened in the last week of Syracuse football.

The Syracuse Orange have completed a week of playing football, so it’s time for the recap of what we saw last Friday night and beyond. Of course, I mean it’s time to take a look at the weekly depth chart released for this week, when the Orange take on the Florida State Seminoles down in Tallahassee.

First thing of note: Garrett Shrader is listed as QB No. 1. This is coincident with Coach Babers’ talk of essentially whoever plays best the week prior will be the starting quarterback. Since Tommy didn’t play, it’s Garrett by default on that logic.

Also on the offense, Jarveon Howard has officially entered the transfer portal, and as such, the list of “OR” at running back is decreased by one. Somehow he’s still in the “OR” mix at kick returner though. Assuming that’s a stretch at this point. Dakota Davis has added and “OR” to the right guard spot, earning back some time as he’s easing back to health from Darius Tisdale.

The final change is the addition of the “OR” to the Rover slot. Justin Barron has made his presence known and it in the “OR” wagon with starter Rob Hanna. All in all, not much change to the chart, but enough to make note of.
