Each week, we’ll take a look at what other college football media sites are saying about the Syracuse Orange. The Orange survived on Friday night to move to 3-1 on the season but were the power ranking pollsters impressed?

In this week’s SP+ rankings Syracuse moves up fourteen places to the 70th spot with the offense 85th while the defense ranks 43rd. The Orange are ranked between Louisville and UTSA. This week’s opponent the Florida State Seminoles are 73rd this week with their offense 61st and defense 83rd.
The Football Power Index has Syracuse up five spots to 78th between this blog favorites the Tulane Green Wave and California Golden Bears. Florida State is 81st in the FPI.

Syracuse creeps up one spot to 10th in the local paper’s weekly ACC Power Rankings. The Orange are in between North Carolina and Miami. Florida State is at the bottom this week.
If the Orange had a passing game, the team would be pretty complete. It also feels like you need to be able to pass to win games in the modern era of football.
It will be fascinating to see how the Orange addresses its weakness moving forward

In the CBS Sports power rankings Syracuse is up thirteen spots to 66th between Missouri and Houston. CBS has Florida State ranked 106th this week.

The Orange make a huge leap from 92nd to 65th in The Athletic’s Top 130 Power Rankings placing them in between Tulane and Liberty this week. Florida State is 104th in this power ranking.
