The Syracuse Orange football program hadn’t made a recruiting addition for 2022 in about two weeks. So of course, Wednesday seemed like as good a time as any for the latest commitment.
Very thankful and blessed to have this Opportunity I want to thank my Family & Friends and Coaches With that being Said I am 100% Committed to The University of Syracuse #Juicedup #Commit2Cu2e @CoachBabersCuse @CuseCoachTW @CoachNJ_Monroe @b_shep2 @AllenTrieu @CChipwest pic.twitter.com/bBSmtLonGk

Warren, Ohio defensive back Dom Foster announced that he’s committing to Syracuse. At 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, he has solid cornerback size already. The 247Sports composite rankings have him as a three-star prospect. Foster had offers from the likes of Boston College, Wake Forest, Virginia, Toledo, Buffalo and numerous others.
So that’s 11 commits now for the 2022 cycle, with eight on the defensive side of the ball. Foster is the fourth defensive back already. He joins Jeremiah Wilson, Cornell Perry and Quan Peterson in that position group, so TBD how many more DBs Syracuse winds up adding to this class. Perhaps a player more predisposed to playing safety makes the most sense since most of the current guys look more like corners.
Given the emphasis to-date on the defensive side of the ball, expect a course-correction to offense at some point. In the meantime, though, it’s a solid group on defense so far, in no small part due to (SU’s ace recruiter) Nick Monroe.
Highlights for Foster below that may be a little more offense-minded. Welcome aboard, Dom!
