Get to Know Your Orange Man: #73 OL, Wes Hoeh

Dino went to the Midwest to add some beef to the offensive line

Syracuse v Maryland

Name: Wes Hoeh

Position: Offensive Line

Year: Freshman

Height: 6’4”

Weight: 275 pounds

Hometown: Glenn Ellynn, IL

High School: Glenbard West

2020 stats: Team captain of his high school team. Was ranked in the top 50 recruits in Illinois.

2021 projections: Wes projects as an interior lineman and the injury to Dakota Davis could give him some training camp reps but he’ll likely be headed for a redshirt season like the other incoming linemen.

How’d he get here?: Chose the Syracuse Orange over offers from Appalachian State, Air Force, Navy and a number of Ivy League schools.

What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars all around

Money Quote: That offer list should tell you about Wes’ intelligence and his high school coach told syracuse.com that the Orange were getting an athlete

““Everybody wants to have this ready-made kid who’s 280 pounds, but Wes is athletic,” Hetlet said. “He bends as good as any offensive lineman in the state and he’s as athletic as any offensive lineman in the state.

Tweet O’Wonder:

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: An unusual choice as Dino goes with “The Cat in the Hat” featuring Glenbard West alum Sean Hayes. The rational for this film is that Dino’s stressing the message that his lineman need to work together to eliminate the problems caused by unwanted guests in the backfield.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Wes was a member of three state championship rugby squads in high school
