Name: Trebor Pena
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: Freshman
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 182 lbs
Hometown: Ocean Township, N.J.
High School: Ocean Township
2020 stats: We saw a good bit of Pena, as the Syracuse Orange freshman appeared in 9 games at kick returner/reserve running back role. He returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown versus NC State.
2021 projections: As you can see in the title, Pena is not sticking at running back. With Jarveon Howard and Abdul Adams returning to the program alongside Sean Tucker, it will take a catastrophic amount of injuries to have Pena line up in the backfield. It’s more likely the New Jersey product is a contender for a slot receiver role pending where the staff line up Taj Harris.
How’d he get here?: Originally a Temple commit, Pena flipped after an official visit to Syracuse. He had offers from a long list of schools, including the aforementioned Temple, Delaware, Albany, the service academies and a multitude of other squads.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars!
Money quote: Coach Mike Lynch had some good things to say after Pena was named ACC Specialist of the Week:
“He’s a guy we can put in there, obviously good in the pass game.” “He understands the runs now, too. He can do both. You can run inside zone. You can run power. As we move forward, you could see his role expand.”
Twitter feed: @PenaTrebor
Tweets of wonder: Pena’s high school showed some love after a brief appearance in the Spring Scrimmage footage.
Still getting used to seeing #29 but would know the plays @PenaTrebor makes anywhere. Big things coming. #OTF https://t.co/uc7iYxYD9X

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: I mean, it’s gotta be Jersey Boys, right? Especially considering the connection to Tommy DeVito will be crucial to the team’s success this year.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Pena was a standout in track and field. He won his conference long jump title as a junior and was an All-Shore first team member there as well.
Let’s get a look at ya: Here’s that touchdown for a hit of serotonin this morning!
