Name: Taj Harris
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: Junior
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 176
Hometown: Beverly, N.J.
High School: Palmyra
2020 stats: Harris capped off a 2020 year with Third Team All-ACC honors. He finished the season with 58 receptions for 733 yards and five touchdowns. Not a bad season for the newly minted #1 wideout.
2021 projection: With a little more time for his QB to get the ball to him, I would think that Harris improves upon an already impressive 2020 campaign. There might also be the ability to move Harris around the field a little and foster some mismatches, which can only help him to be targeted. Should be another big year for the not-quite-senior.
How’d he get here: He had offers from NC State, Maryland, Rutgers, Temple and others at the time. Glad he chose Orange.
What’d recruiting sites say: Consensus three stars.
Money quote: At media day, Dino talked to Syracuse.com about Taj and his ability this year, saying he’s probably going to break records. When asked if he wanted to keep him for his super-senior season, Dino offered the following —
“If he has a good enough year and he’s high enough, I want him to go,” Babers said. “You gotta be high enough. Don’t be going low. You gotta go high.

What movie would Dino recommend for him: Ed Harris starred alongside Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage in 1996’s The Rock, which is what Taj wants to see a lot of this year. It’s a corny joke, I know, but totally worth it.
Interesting Nugget O‘Interest: I couldn’t continue the Olympic trend for this last GTK that I’m doing, but Palmyra high school, where Harris went, has quite the football pedigree. Four former (Derek Holloway, Deron Cherry, Quron Pratt) or current (Kelvin Harmon) NFL players attended the school prior to Taj.
Let’s get a good look at ya:
