Get to Know Your Orange Man: #10, DB Adrian Cole

A defensive back with the opportunity to step up this Fall.

NCAA Football: Syracuse at Pittsburgh Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Adrian Cole

Position: Defensive Back

Year: Redshirt Freshman

Height: 5’10”

Weight: 176 pounds

Hometown: Plantation, Fla.

High School: Plantation High School

2020 stats: Played in five games. Recorded ten tackles on the season including five against Louisville

2021 projections: Last year he was behind Ifeatu Melifonwu so Cole has an opportunity to grab the starting cornerback spot opposite Garrett Williams or at least earn more snaps on passing downs. With the players Syracuse is looking to replace he’s going to be one of the defensive backs given a long look in camp.

How’d he get here?: Cole had offers from Pitt, Buffalo, South Florida, Florida Atlantic and FIU but chose to join the Syracuse Orange in 2019.

What’d recruiting sites say?: Three-star recruit across the board.

Money Quote: After he committed Adrian talked to the SunSentinel about the potential he saw in Syracuse.

“I committed to them after the 4-8 season last year, and when I went up on my official visit, I saw everything for myself, and it made me feel some special things were going on up in Syracuse, New York, and I want to be a part of it,”

Twitter feed: No account for Adrian which is probably a healthy decision

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Actor Cole Hauser had a role in “2 Fast 2 Furious” which is exactly how Tony White and Dino want their defensive backs to play. The Fast and the Furious franchise hits close to home for Dino, who is just like Dom Toretto when it comes to family.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Adrian was born in Puerto Rico which means Syracuse is San Juan’s College Team
