Name: Russell Thompson-Bishop

Position: Wide receiver

Year: (Redshirt) Junior

Height: 6’1”

Weight: 247 lbs.

Hometown: Bloomfield, Conn.

High School: Bloomfield High School

2020 stats: Appeared in six games on special teams.

2021 projections: Syracuse fans have been waiting for Thompson-Bishop to help the receiver corps but at his size will he be used more as a blocker on the edge? It will be interesting to see if he could be used to help the run game this fall.

How’d he get here?: Chose to join the Syracuse Orange over interest from schools like Temple, Army, UConn and Boston College.

What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars from 247Sports and ESPN, with Scout and Rivals giving out a two-star rating.

Money quote: As a high-school receiver and track athlete Thompson-Bishop was intrigued by pace of the Syracuse offense. Let’s hope 2021 sees that offense come to fruition.

“I think that offense is second to none,” Bishop previously said. “Just the explosiveness, the hurry up. It’s a we’re-going-to-throw-the-ball kind of offense.”

Twitter feed: @RTB__12

Tweets of wonder: Mostly retweets highlighting the accomplishments of others (which we applaud) but here’s RTB in action from a few years ago

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: We’re going with “Back to the Future” which of course features Lea Thompson in a starring role. Dino wants the Orange to return to that fast-paced offense and he’ll be looking for everyone to help get the 1.21 gigawatts needed to push this DeLorean to 88 miles per hour.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Thompson-Bishop played his high school ball at Bloomfield, which of course is the alma mater of Dwight Freeney.

Let’s get a look at ya: Here’s some high school footage
