Name: Ethan Fischler
Position: Wide receiver
Year: (Redshirt) Sophomore
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 182
Hometown: Orinda, Calif.
High School: Miramonte
2020 stats: Appeared in the final game of the season at Notre Dame. Not a bad place to see your first collegiate snaps.
2021 projections: Fischler is likely vying for a spot on the travel squad as a special teams contributor. With a couple of years of experience in the program his knowledge of the playbook might give him an edge on some of the incoming receivers.
How’d he get here?: Was offered a preferred walk-on spot back in January 2018. After taking 2019 off he returned to the Syracuse Orange last fall.
What’d recruiting sites say?: No rankings.
Money quote: We’ve mentioned this before but when you catch two touchdowns in the final five minutes on the road in a big comeback in the North Coast playoffs back in high school it’s worth revisiting.
“This was easily the craziest and most unbelievable game I’ve been a part of. We never gave up and hats off to El Cerrito for a great, well-fought game.”

Tweets of Wonder: Mostly retweets but we found Ethan showing off some Bay Area dance moves

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Ethan Embry starred in “Can’t Hardly Wait” as Preston Meyers, a high school senior who learns that his crush is now single and decides he’ll tell her at the final party before they head off to college. Dino’s going to point out the overlying message throughout the movie about making assumptions about others and not waiting to seize an opportunity.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Ethan played basketball at Miramonte just like Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty.
Let’s get a look at ya: Here’s some Fischler tape from high school.
