There are very few times that I, as a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, get to apply baseball fandom to college football discussions. However, today is my time to shine!
In the third round of the MLB Draft, the Pittsburgh Pirates selected a right handed pitcher out of North Oconee, GA named Bubba Chandler. The player was a projected top 30 prospect in this year's class, so you may be asking why he didn't get drafted in the top 30 picks. This is because Bubba Chandler is also a 4 star quarterback recruit who has committed to play for the Clemson Tigers.
Most MLB teams passed on Chandler because they did not think he would commit to playing professional baseball and then they would have wasted a draft pick, OR Chandler would want more money than most teams could set aside to sign him due to the newer MLB draft rules capping signing bonuses. But guess what? They were wrong!

Does this have anything to do with Syracuse? Eh, it means that Clemson got one less 4 star quarterback. What does it mean for me as a Syracuse/Pirates fan? It means I can quote a former Orange head coach and say that Bubba made the correct decision to pick the Pirates over Dabo.
