Name: Terry Lockett
Position: Defensive Tackle
Weight: 261 lbs
Hometown: Springfield, Mass.
High School: Springfield Central
2020 stats: Didn’t play senior season of high school.
2021 projections: Lockett already being on campus is a good sign for his progress up the depth chart. He even appeared in a couple of plays in Syracuse’s spring ball scrimmage. While no new defensive linemen have an above 50-percent chance of jumping the super seniors on the current line, Lockett could easily play himself onto the two-deep.
How’d he get here?: Lockett only got three offers, but one of them was from Michigan. Buffalo and UMass were the other programs interested in Lockett.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars all-around. Rivals ranked Lockett the No. 3 prospect in Massachusetts.
Money quote: Lockett won’t be one of the guys that gets out-benched by Babers.
“He had a dream and a goal of playing Division I football and he knew what he had to do in the weight room,” Lockett’s high school head coach Valdamar Brower said. “So that’s what he did.”

Tweets of wonder: Lockett may have not played a senior season, but he dominated during his junior season.
Blessed to receive the Angelo Bertelli award (most valuable player in the region). All glory to the man above. This award usually goes to a skill player. To all the boys in the trenches continue to work and grind for the recognition that the big boys deserve. pic.twitter.com/yQAGYWELEE— Terry Lockett (@terrylockett7) June 10, 2020
What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Dorian Lockett is a voice actor who has lent his voice to a number of video games. His voice can be heard in Disney’s “Soul,” the journey of a jazz musician whose soul is separated from his body.
Interesting nugget o’interest: We love early recruits here, and Lockett was the first recruit committed to the Orange in the class of 2020. He committed on March 22, 2020.
Let’s get a look at ya: Coach Reynolds and Coach White break down the film on Lockett.
