It’s been a bit since the Syracuse Orange football program had a player commit for the class of 2022, but hopefully that’s about to change.
With four players committed for 2022 already, Syracuse built some nice early momentum, but could really use a quarterback in this class to solidify things and signal stability to other targets. On that note, it appears that top 2022 target Henry Belin (three-star, from Cardinal Hayes in the Bronx) will be announcing his decision on Thursday, July 1.

Syracuse has been in on Belin for awhile, as have some other schools — including his dad’s alma mater, Vanderbilt. However, this top three doesn’t include the ‘Dores. Instead, his decision is coming down to SU, Duke or Northwester. Notably the Blue Devils only offered him on June 3 of this year, while he’s had an Orange offer for over a year now. Regardless, his offer list and top schools seem to indicate he’s quite the student.
For what it’s worth here, crystal ball predictions don’t necessarily paint a great picture for ‘Cuse. They could be wrong, sure. We’ll know either way come 1 p.m. ET on Thursday, though. And then cue the predictable influx of positivity or gloom and doom, respectively, going into the holiday weekend.
