Name: Mike Midkiff
Position: Long snapper
Year: (Redshirt) freshman
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 206
Hometown: Colorado Springs, Colo.
High School: Air Academy
2020 stats: No appearances in games last year.
2021 projections: Aaron Bolinsky’s pretty entrenched as the long snapper for the Syracuse Orange. So there probably isn’t much of a shot for Midkiff to nab his job barring injury.
How’d he get here?: You can thank Dino Babers’s brother Tracy for making the connection here, since he was Midkiff’s position coach in high school.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Kohl’s Kicking Camp said he was the No. 59 long snapper in the country back in 2019.
Money Quote: From that profile above, Midkiff shared what made the biggest impact for him when visiting Syracuse.
“The football team preaches family. I felt that when I walked in.”
Twitter feed: @midkiffmichael1
Tweets of wonder: Several Orange players took a crack at the Bottle Cap Challenge back in 2019.

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Don’t know if Dino’s much of a horror movie guy, but Dale Midkiff was in 1989’s Pet Sematary, based on the Stephen King novel by the same name.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Football runs in the Midkiff family, apparently. Both Mike’s father and grandfather played for Ball State, and at least one of them played some center there.
Let’s get a look at ya: High school highlights? High school highlights.
