Name: Anthony Red
Position: Offensive Line
Year: (Redshirt) Freshman
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 282
Hometown: Bloomfield, CT
High School: St. Thomas More
2020 stats: Was injured last year.
2021 projections: After missing last season it seems like Red is going to be battling for a backup tackle spot and for snaps on special teams. He’s still an intriguing prospect with four years of eligibility left and if either starter struggles we might see Red on the field sooner than we think.
How’d he get here?: He was discovered a bit late in the recruiting process and chose Syracuse over offers from Buffalo, Temple and UMass.
What’d recruiting sites say?: 3 stars from everyone and was considered a top-15 prospect in Connecticut
Money quote: Red went from 230 pounds to 290 in one off-season and he felt he could go even higher.
“To me, I still don’t think I’m that big,” Red said. “I want to get to 300, 305 before the season.”

Tweets of wonder: Anthony still isn’t a big tweeter but this one probably pleases a former Seton Hall MBB season ticket holder on the Nunes staff

What movie would Dino Babers recommend for him?: Why deviate from last year? Let’s go with Going with “Red 2” featuring Bruce Willis, Hellen Mirren and Morgan Freeman. These formerly retired operatives are brought back into the field again and must work together to finish the mission.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Anthony also attended Bloomfield High School which is the alma mater of Syracuse Orange legend Dwight Freeney.
Let’s get a look at ya: Let’s watch some footage from Anthony’s high school reel
