Position: Defensive Tackle

Year: (Redshirt) Junior

Height: 6’2”

Weight: 296 lbs

Hometown: McKeesport, Pa.

High School: McKeesport

2020 stats: Harper played in all 11 games last year as the backup to McKinley Williams at DT, recording 14 tackles with 1.5 TFLs.

2021 projections: With Bear back for an additional season, there isn’t much reason to expect Harper to start over him. In the same vein, there isn’t much reason to suspect that any other player on the roster right now has taken over Harper’s position as the backup interior defensive lineman. Expect Harper to continue to rotate in when Bear needs a break on the D-Line.

How’d he get here?: A lot of schools were interested in Harper, but he chose Syracuse in the end. Boston College, Buffalo, Iowa State, Maryland, and Wake Forest were some of the schools Harper turned down for SU.

What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars from 247sports and ESPN, but only two stars from Rivals. Jeez Rivals - get with the program.

Tweets of wonder: In this week’s example of COVID eligibility rules are confusing:

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Did you know that 50 Cent’s real name is Curtis Jackson? He plays the main role of Marcus in the 2005 movie “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” which is a movie based on 50 Cent’s real life.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Harper’s High School, McKeesport in Pa., is the alma mater of WNBA legend Swim Cash.

Let’s get a look at ya: Good hype video from Harper’s past season.
