Get to Know Your Orange Man: #56, OL Darius Tisdale

Get to know another lineman!

NCAA Football: Boston College at Syracuse Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Darius Tisdale

Position: Offensive Line

Year: (Redshirt) Junior

Height: 6’4”

Weight: 314 lbs.

Hometown: South Brunswick, N.J.

High School: South Brunswick (but played at Lackawanna Community College in Scranton, PA before joining the Syracuse Orange)

2020 stats: Tisdale appeared in all 11 games for the Orange this season, as one of the few men left standing along the offensive line. Tisdale primarily played guard, starting 10 games for the Orange in that spot.

2021 projections: A healthy o-line sees Tisdale making way for Chris Bleich and Dakota Davis in the starting line, but Tisdale will more than likely see action all season long as a backup guard and a starter on the PAT/FG special teams line. That said, prior to last season’s pre-season shutdown, Tisdale was working out at Tackle as well, which is a bit less solidified than guard.

How’d he get here?: By choosing the Orange over West Virginia, Marshall, and Pittsburgh after a stop at his Scranton, PA JUCO.

What’d recruiting sites say?: 3 Stars from 247 and ESPN, with 2 stars from Rivals, so they shall be shunned.

Tweets of wonder: Say it louder for the back!

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: I’m going to guess that for someone who’s the next man up along the line, Tisdale needs to be in a state of mind that gets him ready to jump in at a moment’s notice. So i’m going to bet Dino makes sure he watches the original Independence Day and not the bad sequel/spin-off.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Tisdale is cousins with former SU running back Dontae Strickland, who played in Orange from 2015 to 2018. Strickland scored 15 touchdowns for Syracuse and signed an undrafted free-agent contract with the Arizona Cardinals after his graduation.

Let’s get a look at ya: Here’s a look at some of that tackle work mentioned above.
