Name: Josh Kosciol
Position: Offensive Line
Year: (Redshirt) Freshman
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 307
Hometown: Honeoye Falls, N.Y.
High School: Honeoye Falls-Lima
2020 stats: Kosciol actually appeared in two games for the Syracuse Orange last year, getting snaps on the inside of the line vs. both Georgia Tech and Clemson.
2021 projections: It’s not that Kosciol’s contributions aren’t valued. But hopefully Syracuse has a lot more health on the offensive line and that prevents a real need to get the walk-on into games much.
How’d he get here?: Kosciol was a walk-on back in 2019, after going to high school not too far from SU, just outside Rochester.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Nothing, unfortunately for them.
Money quote: Never a bad thing for anyone when Evan Adams has good things to say about you.
“Everybody sleeps on Josh because of his size. He has a huge heart. He plays like he has a chip on his shoulder, too. I think he’s going to be something else in his own right.”

Tweets of wonder: Video orientation aside, a nice shout-out from Josh’s former high school coach.
Congrats to @Joshkosciol71 on getting his first game reps with @CuseFootball today against @GeorgiaTechFB. Walk-on redshirt freshman. Keep grinding! pic.twitter.com/gEzSD2Vdmm

What movie would Dino Babers recommend for him?: Looking for a famous “Josh,” you’re probably familiar with Josh Hartnett. Among many other films, he appeared in 2006’s Lucky Number Slevin as Slevin Kelevra. The movie’s about mistaken identity putting the titular Slevin in a conflict between two rival crime bosses, plus the authorities. You’ve probably seen it, but worth a watch either way.
Interesting nugget o’interest: It’s fitting since he’s at Syracuse that he played lacrosse in high school. Despite his larger frame, Kosciol played attack for three seasons at Honeoye Falls-Lima.
Let’s get a look at ya: Hudl highlights? Hudl highlights.
