Name: Landon Morris
Position: Tight End
Weight: 228 lbs
Hometown: Indianapolis, Ind.
High School: Nazareth Academy
2020 stats: Finished up his senior season at Nazareth, where he totaled 81 career catches for 1,456 yards and 13 touchdowns.
2021 projections: Given that having two pass-catching tight ends in Luke Benson and Steven Mahar Jr. might seem like too much for Sterlin Gilbert, expect Morris to redshirt. He’ll need to learn the blocking schemes to play, but his explosive offensive style can eventually see him on the field. That is, if Gilbert wants to actually throw to the tight ends.
How’d he get here?: Although his offer list was smaller compared to other players, Morris still received interest from Power Five schools. Boston College, Iowa State, and Michigan all submitted offers.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Nothing beats a solid consensus three stars from everyone.
Money quote: Morris was named by Sports Illustrated’s Edwin Weathersby as one of the top-10 H-Tight Ends in the class of 2021. SI describes the H-Tight End as a versatile or flex tight end; seemingly a more offensive-minded player. Here’s a bit of his report on Morris:
In watching Morris on tape, we feel strongly that Syracuse may very well indeed be getting a steal. He has plus route running traits as a big receiver, let alone as an H-Tight End prospect. The 6-foot-5 ‘Cuse pledge can use subtle head fakes and alter his shoulders outside his hips and frame to spin coverage at breakpoints before separating. Morris also works with plenty of urgency in his movements, illustrated by his solid release quickness.

Tweets of wonder: On the plus side, Jim Boeheim will have another person on campus to complain to refs about questionable calls.

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: What do you think Dino thinks of the modern “Transformers” films? Does he think Shia Labeouf deserves another chance in Hollywood? Why do I think Dino recommends this for Morris? Well read on.
Interesting nugget o’interest: If you took a quick peek at Morris’ twitter profile, you’ll notice that his nickname is Megatron.
Let’s get a look at ya: The coaches reviewing the tape on the recent recruits was an excellent piece of content earlier this year.
