The Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team signed its seventh transfer and likely final player of the 2021-22 roster on Friday. Forward Alaysia Styles will transfer from the University of Maryland to Syracuse next season for her graduate year.

Last season at Maryland, the 6’3” forward averaged 4.9 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest. She shot 60.5% from the field and 71.% from the free throw line.
Styles spent her first three college seasons at California. The San Diego native averaged 4.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in 88 career games. Styles started in 30 games her junior year and averaged 8.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest.
A four-star recruit out of La Jolla Country Day, Styles was ranked the No. 90 overall prospect in the nation and 16th-ranked wing in the 2017 recruiting class by ESPN. Styles averaged 20.9 points and 12.8 rebounds per game during her senior season of high school.
