The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team will host Division II Pace for an early season exhibition game, SU Athletics announced.
The Orange will play Pace on October 27 inside the Carrier Dome. These two teams last met on November 1, 2012, with SU earning a 99-63 victory. Pace did not compete during the 2020-21 season as the Northeast-10 Conference Council of Presidents voted to cancel regular season and championship competition for winter sports.
As for Syracuse’s non-conference slate, we can expect the program to schedule longtime in-state foes Colgate and Cornell after a one-year hiatus. The Orange will head to Washington D.C. to play old Big East rival Georgetown.
Syracuse will also compete in the Battle 4 Atlantis. This year’s tournament field includes Arizona State, Auburn, Loyola-Chicago, Michigan State, Connecticut, VCU and Baylor. Syracuse will play three games in the event irrespective of result.
The Orange will also participate in the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge as well as the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden against Villanova.
The ACC continues along with its 20 game league schedule. Here’s how the conference slate breaks down for Syracuse in 2021-22 including repeat league games.
